Marine notes sold for $ 20,000

Two volumes of records from the early nineteenth century, the first entitled "Memoirs of a Journey, from Bristol to the Mediterranean 1819 AD" and "The Memoirs of the Ostria Ship for a Journey from London to the Mediterranean 1821 AD" were exhibited at an auction in New York.

According to the finebooksmagazine site, these records contain 28 handwritten sheets and 35 drawings. Captain William Hodgson, who painted it, not only painted his ship, but painted other merchant ships traveling through the Mediterranean.

The price of the records rose in the auction and sold for $ 20,800.
