A captain leaves a French traveler on an island in the Indian Ocean

قبطان يترك مسافراً فرنسياً بجزيرة في المحيط الهندي

A French passenger was expelled from a luxury cruise ship by the captains and left on an Indian Ocean island.
The captain's decision came after the traveler's rebellion over the non-stop of the ship on two islands that were scheduled for the flight stations, according to a report by the British newspaper Telegraph.
Dream turns to jail
It was supposed to be a dream cruise around the Vanilla Islands of Madagascar, Morris, Reunion, and Seychelles aboard the Costa New Rivera.
But French chef Alain Jean, 53, who rode aboard the ship with his wife from the French islands of La Reunion in the Pacific, on 26 October
2017, said the ship had been turned into a "floating prison".
Two days after the trip, the unrest began when the captain announced that three stops had been canceled in Madagascar because of the plague on the island.
Madagascar is currently experiencing a lung and lung disease epidemic, which the World Health Organization (WHO) says poses a major threat to the wider Indian Ocean region. More than 1,000 people have been infected in the country and more than 100 people have died.
"We agreed, because the decision was made for health reasons, and in any case there were two other remaining flights in Nuzi Bey and Diego Suarez," Allen told Le Parisien newspaper.
But the next day, the passengers were informed that the other stops were canceled and that the boat would not go to Mauritius.
150 euros
Things got worse when they learned they would get 150 euros in compensation; "Things are starting to get worse, 150 euros and a large part of the trip has been canceled, and the drink on board costs 5 euros!" He said.
When Mr. Jean failed to receive an adequate answer from the crew, he launched a petition. "That evening we organized a protest in the restaurant, and there were 60 of us beating our fists on the table to alert other passengers to what we were doing," he said.
When the captain refused to change course, rebel passengers staged a second protest in the theater when the boat approached the island of Seychelles.
The captain contacted the local police chief, who came to the ship.
"I heard the story from the two of us and asked to speak to the French ambassador. Then the captain asked the captain if he wanted to come down," he said.
Mr. Jean and his wife were escorted out of the boat, but there was a positive side to their expulsion.
"I'm happy to be expelled!"
"I spent two nights at a Seychelles hotel with my wife and then we went back to our house at the expense of Costa, and that's how we got free of the floating prison," Jean told Le Parisien.
As soon as he returned to his hometown of Reunion, Jean went to meet the remaining passengers as they descended, and many complained that they were "treated like cattle" and "stolen."
He and others claimed that "Costa" was known to have contracted the plague several months ago, but deliberately disguised the departure of the flight program from the passengers.
Costa Croisos denied the allegations. "The company made an effort to avoid canceling stops in Madagascar and looked for all possible alternatives," it said in a statement.
While understanding the "disappointment of passengers wishing to wait for every stop on the Costa Nuevera route," he said that "the safety, health and well-being of passengers and crew is an absolute priority."
He added that the health authorities in Mauritius expressed "serious concern" about the situation in Madagascar, which requires a stone of health; to ensure that there are no sick passengers.
"Given the delay caused by this, or the delay that would have caused the occurrence of suspicious cases onboard the ship, and given that the passengers were already on board - the company was forced to restrict its trip to Seychelles and Reunion only"
