The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has joined in investigating a report that turned out to be a lie about a "dirty" bomb on a container ship that arrived in the US port of Charleston after a flight from Oman.

According to ABC News, local and federal authorities are involved in the investigation, despite the US Coast Guard's announcement of a warning about the danger and the removal of the safe zone that had already been imposed at the port on the grounds of fears of a bomb on board a ship. Container "Maersk Memphis" of the Maersk marine line.

The Coast Guard announced in a tweet at its Twitter account that the person in charge of the false communication had been arrested for questioning.

The letter appeared in a video posted on YouTube, in which a person who described himself as a "conspirator" declared a bomb containing radioactive materials on board the ship.

The ship arrived at the port of Charleston on Wednesday, from the port of New York, where it arrived earlier from Oman.

The communication was sent to the Coast Guard to inform Maersk of the emergency situation, the evacuation of the port and the evacuation of all crew members.
